If housing benefit is paid direct to the claiment as proposed, expect choas and an increase in homeless.
This is the likely scenario:
- When landlords have tenants who don’t pay their rent it isn’t long before they are served notice to leave the property.
- The landlords will stop accepting tenants on benefit.
- There will be an increase of claimant’s without access to rental properties and will have to be housed in B & B.
- The cost to taxpayers will go up.
